Warden
Geography and history
Warden is a town situated in the Thabo Mofutsanyana region of the Free State Province in South Africa. It was laid out in 1912 on a farm named Rietvlei and named after Charles Frederick Warden, the former magistrate of Harrismith. This town is located 56 km from Harrismith and 106 km from Villiers. Warden is a producer of potato and maize crops as well as red meat. The town was officially proclaimed in 1913 and is situated on the N3 national road.
