Hertzogville
Geography and history
Hertzogville is a small town situated in the Lejweleputswa region of the Free State Province in South Africa. It is named after South Africa’s longest-serving prime minister, JBM Hertzog. The town was founded on a farm named Donkerfontein in 1915. The majority of its residents speak Afrikaans. The crops that are grown in Hertzogville include maize, wheat and groundnuts. Cattle and sheep farming are important to this area. The Dutch Reformed Church is made of sandstone.
