Geography and history

Thaba ‘Nchu is situated in the Motheo and Xhariep region of the Free State Province in South Africa. This area, full of unrestricted plains and rugged splendour, is located east of Bloemfontein. The name Thaba ‘Nchu is seSotho for “Black Mountain”. This town was established in 1873 and is now the spiritual native soil of the Tswana people.
